About

A ukulele sing-along. Everyone plays what they can, everyone sings, nobody performs.

What this is

St. Lou-kulele Sing-Along is a gathering for people who want to sing together and strum along on the ukulele. It is a sing-along, not a show. There is no stage, no audience, and nobody keeping score. You do not have to be good. If you can play a few chords, or none at all, there is a seat for you.

Who is behind it

I am a musician, and I am still learning the ukulele myself. What drew me in was less the instrument than the idea of a room full of people singing together just because it is fun. That does not happen often enough, and this group is my way of making it happen.

Who it is for

Everyone. Complete beginners and people who have played for years are all welcome, as long as you bring a ukulele and are ready to sing. We want an open, friendly room where no one feels they have to prove anything. Drinkers and non-drinkers are equally welcome.

Where and when

Our first sessions will be at Fallon’s Irish Pub in Olivette. Dates and times will be updated, but we are currently looking at every other Monday from 7 to around 9 PM. Fallon’s is a pub and restaurant, so food and drinks are there if you want them. As the group grows we may change the place, the days or the times. Any change will be posted on the calendar and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

What we play

Mostly contemporary songs, with a mix from different decades in each session so there is usually something you know. Every song is posted as a PDF on the songbooks page. Please print what you need before you come, or bring an iPad or tablet to read it on.

Come along

If you are thinking about coming, you can find answers to the usual questions on the FAQ page. If something is not covered, get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
